How to connect a folder

Connect a folder to save topics and maps as Markdown and YAML on your computer.

Prerequisites

To connect a folder, you must be…

  • a paid user of the app.
  • using a Chromium-based browser (for example, Chrome, Edge, Opera, or Brave).

Steps

  1. Click the Connect folder link in the upper right of the browser window. A file selector will open.
  2. Navigate to the folder you want to connect and click Select.
  3. Your browser will ask permission to edit files in the folder. Click Allow.

Results

Once you have connected a folder, Sheetbend will use it to organize your content:

  • Topics will be saved as Markdown files.
  • Maps will be saved as YAML files.
  • The next time you export a map it will be saved in an Exports sub-folder in your connected folder.

Tip: If you save to a cloud-synced folder, you will be able to connect to that folder on a different computer and use your topics, maps, and exports.
